Meet the people behind Aspire Bidding Ltd โ experienced strategists and writers dedicated to helping organisations win through clarity, credibility and human judgement.
Andrew Morrison
Co-Founder | Strategic Bid Authority

โI began my career in local government social housing, spending over a decade there including commissioning services and evaluating tender submissions. This early experience on the buyer side of procurement continues to shape my approach today. I understand not only how bids are scored, but how evaluation decisions are discussed, defended and lived with long after contract award.โ
Andrew Morrison
Andrew Morrison is one of the UKโs most respected bid strategists, recognised globally for shaping how winning bids are conceived, written and evaluated.
With over two decades of senior experience across public and private sector bidding, Andrew brings a rare combination of strategic judgement, commercial credibility and evaluator insight. He has operated at every level of the bidding ecosystem: commissioning services, evaluating submissions, leading national bid teams, advising boards, and building high-performing consultancies.
Clients work with Andrew because they want more than well-written bids. They want clarity, confidence and defensible decisions in high-stakes, business-critical situations.
In 2005, Andrew moved into professional bidding and business development. His experience includes:
- Business Development Director at Orchard & Shipman plc
- Leading five national bid teams at British Gas
- Founder of AM Bid, a multi-sector bid consultancy launched in 2014
Under Andrewโs leadership, AM Bid achieved independently audited win rates of around 85%, before being successfully sold in 2023.
This blend of evaluator insight, in-house leadership and consultancy experience gives Andrew a perspective few bid professionals possess: he understands how bids are written, how they are experienced by evaluators, and how they are judged under pressure.
Chris Denyer
Co-Founder | Built-environment expertise, human insight, and AI in practice

โBidding is not a purely technical exercise. Bidding is about people. When you craft a bid, you have something to say โ a solution, an idea, an approach. Too often, bids are filled with right-sounding words and appealing promises, but they are disconnected from the people who will actually deliver the work. The result is a win on paper, followed by an awkward moment on site โ when the buyer meets a team that feels unrecognisable from the one they approved.
โWhile AI can accelerate and enhance the process, tendering remains a human system โ shaped by judgement, behaviour, feeling. We specialise in keeping your message clear, truthful and undiluted, so that when a buyer reads your bid, itโs your voice they hear, not ours.โ
Chris Denyer
Chris Denyer is a highly respected bid consultant, trainer and writer, specialising in construction and the built environment. Having worked in the construction industry for 20 years, he understands the pressures contractors face to produce highquality tenders at pace under real commercial pressure.
Chris will enhance your bid process through industry best practice, and by helping you fully utilise advances in technology. As artificial intelligence (AI) changes how bids are written and evaluated, Chris will help you keep your edge and stand out from the crowd. Clients value him for his realism, empathy and ability to make measurable, real-world improvements to their bidding team.
Lived experience from the client side
Chrisโs career in bidding began where many contractors find themselves: responsible for bids alongside a demanding operational role, without dedicated resources, or a clear process.
This early experience continues to shape his approach today. Chris understands first-hand:
- What it feels like to write bids late at night, under impossible deadlines
- The stress and cognitive load placed on operational staff during tender periods
- The frustration of pursuing bids that were never winnable
- The impact that poor bidding discipline has on morale, mental health and business performance
AI in tendering โ grounded, responsible and practical
Chris is widely recognised for his practical leadership in AI-enabled tendering, with a clear stance that technology must support human judgement rather than replace it.
In September โ November 2025, Chris delivered a Scotland-wide programme of AI in Tendering training, comprising six in-person sessions across Scotland, on behalf of the Scottish Building Federation.
These sessions focused on helping construction businesses:
- Understand what AI can โ and cannot โ do safely in bidding
- Reduce administrative burden without introducing risk
- Avoid generic, AI-generated language that weakens submissions
- Protect credibility, compliance and evaluator trust
- Use AI as a decision-support tool rather than a content crutch
The programme was deliberately practical, tailored to the realities of SME and mid-market contractors, and grounded in real tender documentation rather than theory.
This work reinforced Chrisโs reputation as a trusted, balanced voice in a fast-changing bidding landscape โ one who understands both the opportunity and the risk AI introduces.
Why clients value working with Chris
Chris ensures that bids remain human, credible and grounded in reality.
He works with you to:
- Bring clarity to overstretched or less experienced bid teams
- Translate technical and operational expertise into evaluator-friendly language
- Reduce unnecessary bid stress through better judgement and structure
- Introduce AI in ways that save time without introducing risk
- Build confidence in teams who have historically โjust got on with itโ
Clients consistently describe Chris as calm, straight-talking and deeply relatable โ someone who understands their pressures because he has lived them himself.
A vital complement within Aspire Bidding
Together with Andrew Morrisonโs strategic authority and evaluator insight, Chris brings balance to Aspire Biddingโs senior-led, boutique model.
Where Andrew challenges thinking at board and strategy level, Chris anchors that thinking in day-to-day delivery reality โ ensuring that what is written in a bid can be defended, delivered and lived with by the people on the ground.
Aspire Bidding is built on the belief that winning bids requires human judgement, not just faster writing โ and Chris Denyer embodies that belief in practice.
Christian Mucklow
Bid Writer

Christian Mucklow is a meticulous researcher and persuasive bid writer who helps organisations turn complex requirements into clear, compelling submissions. He brings a keen eye for detail and his love for the written word to every bid.
A graduate of English Literature and Creative Writing (BA Hons) from Royal Holloway University, Christian pairs creative flair with critical thinking. He began his career in 2021 as Communications and Operations Manager for a Surrey start-up, gaining first-hand experience of fast-paced growth, strategic planning and building efficient processes.
In 2024, Christian came in contact with Aspire Bidding co-founder Andrew Morrison. A conversation about bid writing led Christian to consider a shift in his career path. After completing the Ultimate Tender Coach course and being mentored by Andrew Morrison (APMPโs inaugural Global Thought Leader of the Year), Christian joined Aspire Bidding in January 2026.
How Christian adds value to your bids
Christian will work with you to help shape winning bids, from pre-bid assement and evaluation to working hands-on with live and upcoming tender submissions, under the stewardship of bid specialists Andrew Morrison and Chris Denyer.
His background in creative and analytical writing enables him to use words economically and intentionally. His extensive anaylsis of classical literature has given him a keen sensibility and understanding of human thought processes โ specifically how the written word resonates emotionally. This nuanced understanding of how different audiences receive and interpret language allows Christian to articulate submissions that speak directly to your clientsโ real pain points โ prompting even the most fatigued evaluator to sit up, refocus, and truly listen to what you have to say.
Above all, you will value Christianโs thoughtful, honest approach and his dedication to producing high-quality bids that put your clientsโ needs at the forefront. With his support, you can feel confident that your submissions are positioned for success.
Ian Tozer
Customer Relationship Manager

Ian Tozer builds the relationships that sit behind Aspire Bidding’s client work. He helps businesses like you understand how expert bid support can help you win more work and connects you with the right people on the team.
Ian looks after client relationships from the very first conversation. He meets prospective clients through networking, referrals and direct conversation, takes the time to understand what you are trying to achieve, and introduces you to the support that fits you best. He then stays close throughout, following up carefully and keeping relationships strong with current and former clients alike.
He spent most of his working life in the construction and timber trade, supplying materials to builders and businesses across Scotland and building long, trusted relationships along the way. That grounding taught him a lasting lesson โ that good business comes down to trust and genuine relationships. He has known Aspire Bidding co-founder Andrew Morrison for many years and now brings that same relationship-first approach to his work.
Outside work, Ian is a keen cook who is happiest outdoors, and he spends a good deal of his time walking his German wirehaired pointer, Gunnar.
How Ian can help you
Ian knows that the best client relationships start with listening. He takes the time to understand your business, your goals and where you are in your bidding journey before discussing how Aspire Bidding may be able to help.
Getting ready to bid for work can feel daunting, but Ian brings warmth, honesty and genuine interest to every stage of that journey. For him, it always comes back to building a relationship you can rely on and helping you take the next step with confidence.
