Scottish bid and tender expert Andrew Morrison has joined forces with Glasgow-based construction tender specialist Chris Denyer to launch Aspire Bidding. Their goal? To create the “Waitrose of bidding”, giving forward-thinking, growth-hungry businesses like yours the very best in work-winning expertise.
Benefit from Globally Recognised Industry Leadership
When you work with Aspire Bidding, you will access unparalleled expertise. Since 2022, Andrew has enjoyed recognition as Global Thought Leader by the bid world’s professional body APMP. Andrew is the only person to have received this honour, an accolade awarded to him for his pioneering efforts to promote the bidding profession internationally.
Andrew is a serial entrepreneur. This new venture comes just eight months after he sold Business Sale Basecamp, which he set up following the sale of his previous business AM Bid in 2023. For you as our clients, this means Andrew brings both specialist bidding knowledge and the practical insight of someone who has built and scaled successful businesses again and again.
Originally from Sussex, Chris Denyer moved to Glasgow last year and has spent well over a decade writing bids for SMEs in construction and the built environment. Chris has secured places on numerous regional construction frameworks, repeatedly ranking first. His expertise has helped clients increase their win rates significantly, with one client reporting an increase of almost 80% in two years. With a keen interest in emerging technologies, Chris is an AI power user and is well-placed to help you stay ahead of the curve as the industry evolves.
About Aspire Bidding
Based in Edinburgh, Aspire Bidding has hit the ground running, with a UK-wide client base already secured. Our clients span the west of Scotland and the Lothians, extending south to Yorkshire, Cheltenham, and London. To ensure we can support you wherever you are, our boutique consultancy’s six staff members are strategically located near major business hubs across the UK. This means you are never far from someone in the Aspire Bidding team. Competitive tendering is an immense subject, but our co-founders’ combined experience spans every aspect of the bidding process – from writing bids, shaping strategy, and training teams to evaluating submissions on the buyer side. This ensures that you feel understood, wherever you sit in the bidding process.
Bringing Human Insight to Winning Bids
As organisations increasingly turn to artificial intelligence (AI) to craft their bids, many are starting to look and sound the same. In this landscape where automated tools produce generic submissions, we help you stand out by delivering a genuinely human approach – supported by AI but never replaced by it. Having delivered AI in Tendering workshops across Scotland for the Scottish Building Federation in 2025, co-founder Chris Denyer is perfectly placed to help you incorporate AI into your tender workflow while ensuring your voice remains authentically your own.

“I have so much respect for Chris’ work, particularly his great understanding of AI in bid writing. The bidding landscape is changing rapidly. AI, bid automation platforms, content libraries and AI-enabled drafting tools are now widely available. Most organisations – and most bid consultancies – now have access to the same tools, the same templates, and increasingly, the same language. AI also has glitches and gets quite a lot wrong, so care and experience are needed when using it and that’s where Chris’ expertise will be a real asset. On the surface, bids are becoming faster to produce but in reality, many are becoming more generic, more similar and less persuasive. Our bids are shaped by experienced bid professionals, not junior writers following templates or prompts, and are put together in a human and compelling way.”
“Our focus is on people, an element so often overlooked in bidding; our goal is to bring a human touch to the process and make the whole experience stress-free for our clients. One of the common reasons why bids fail is a lack of human connection. Many bids describe services, processes, and policies flawlessly, yet leave evaluators unable to answer the simple question: ‘What will it actually be like to work with these people?’ With Aspire Bidding, even though technology and process play a part, we place the human reality of the bidding organisation at the centre of the response.”
